In this lesson, you’ll learn about the superpower of giving credit to others for the exciting new things they have created! Through a series of fun, creative tasks, you’ll discover how to respect and ethically use others’ work.

There are three types we’ll explore:

  • Copyright protects creative works like music or videos, giving the creator control over how others can use them.
  • Fair use allows limited use of copyrighted material without permission for purposes like criticism, commentary, or education.
  • Creative Commons offers copyright licenses creators can choose to let others use their work with certain conditions.

This is how this lesson is structured:

Lesson structure intellectual property

You’ll watch a video and read an article, then you’ll get creative with some activities! After you’re done we’ll give you feedback and we’ll discuss.

Have fun!
